Mrs. Bernard Hupke", the former Lucille Elizabeth Rauterkus, was born September 22, 1905, at Mapleton, and died Saturday, November 14, 1970, at the nursing home in Mapleton. She had readied the age of 65. She was a life-long resident in Mapleton except for four years at which time she lived at Danbury. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Mapleton. On January 28, 1929, she married Bernard Hupke at Mapleton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter and one sister.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Richard (Francine) Gretch of Great Balls, Montana; Mrs. Richard (LorOtta) Weber of Danbury, and Mrs. Richard (Donna) Jones of Altona; two sons, Leon of Boulder, Colorado and Robert of Anaheim, California ; two brothers, Lawrence of Earting and Frank of Carroll and 24 grandchildren.
Services were heed Tuesday, November 17, 1970, at St. Mary Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m., with the Rev. A. H. Ocicen officiating.
Burial was in the parish cemetery. Rosary was recited on Monday evening, November 16, at 7:30' p.m., at the Walter Funeral Chapel. Pallbearers were, John Uhl, Gilbert Rauterkus, Paul Schoetiherr, Ivo Rautericus, Walter Rautericus and Jerome Rauterkus.
