7 July 2011MOORHEAD, Iowa -- Eric Houston, 36, of Moorhead, died Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at Burgess Health Center in Onawa, Iowa from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Moorhead Christian Church. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. today, with the family present 5 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Fouts Funeral Home of Woodbine, Iowa is in charge of the arrangements.
Eric was born Nov. 24, 1974, to Steve and Judy (Hull) Houston, in Ida Grove, Iowa. The family moved to Moorhead and he attended East Monona Schools from kindergarten through the ninth grade. He then attended Galva-Holstein High School and graduated in 1993. Eric started farming on his own until he joined his father in the Houston Cattle Company in 2000.
Eric married Amy Witterock on July 19, 1996, in Holstein, Iowa.
Eric loved to hunt, fish, and ride dirt bikes with his children. Eric coached Trenton's baseball team for six years. He especially loved spending time with his children and rough housing with them.
He is survived by Amy; and their three children, Trenton William Houston, Ty Stephen Houston, MaClayn Vincentia Houston, all of Mondamin, Iowa; parents, Steve and Judy Houston of Moorhead; sister, Carmen and her husband, Todd Krueger of Lone Tree, Iowa; grandmother, Edna Hull of Moorhead.
