Teresa Delanty was born in Blencoe on March 6, 1905 and was the daughter of John and Sarah Marley. She passed from this life at her home in Onawa on October 19 at the age of 62 years, 7 months, 13 days.

Teresa Marley was united in marriage with Raymond J. Delanty on September 8, 1930 at Blencoe. They lived at Little Sioux until 1942, when they moved to Onawa. She was a faithful member of St. John’s Catholic Church of Onawa and a member of the Rosary Society.

Survivors include a son, Patrick Delanty of Charter Oak; four daughters, Mrs. Donald (Mary Anne) Sullivan of Ankeny, Miss Sarah Rose Delanty of Ankeny, Mrs. Robert (Rita) O’Brien of Des Moines and Miss Sheila Delanty of Onawa; three grandchildren; two sisters, Miss Mary E. Marley of Blencoe and Mrs. Rose Ryan of Blencoe, two brothers, Mike Marley and Maurice Marley of Blencoe.

Mrs. Delanty was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond and a son, Donald Paul.

The funeral mass was held at 9 a.m. Saturday, October 21 at St. John’s Catholic Church with Father Thomas K. Molloy officiating.

Casket bearers were Leo, James, Robert and John E Marley, John Ryan and Robert Stanislav. Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Delanty was a kind and thoughtful person who will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends throughout this area.
