Mrs. Addie J Moats, wife of Clayton Moats, was born at Emerson, Mo. on November 11, 1894, the daughter of Jacob and Amanda Collins Breedlove. She passed from this life at her home October 17 at the age of 72 years, 11 months, 6 days.

March 16, 1918 she was united in marriage with Clayton Moats at Council Bluffs. They had lived around Onawa for 33 years. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church of Onawa.

Survivors include her husband, Clayton of Onawa; two daughters, Mrs. Howard Zortman (Helen) of Onawa and Mrs. Charles (Rosemary) Spiker of El Cerrito, California; a son, James M. Moats in the navy at San Diego, California; a sister, Mrs. Arlie Lock of El Cerrito; two brothers, Dr. Vernon Breedlove of Camdenton, Mo., and Ed Breedlove of Berkeley, California; and a number of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and two brothers.

The funeral mass for Addie Moats was held at 9 a.m. Friday, October 20 at Johns Catholic Church in Onawa with Father Thomas Molloy officiating.

Bearers were Delbert Heisterkamp, James Paseka, Keith Zortman, John Hubert, Gene Zortman and Gordon Walker. Interment was at the Whiting Cemetery. Arrangements were by Pearson funeral home of Onawa.
