Hugo Peter Wacheldorf, son of Henrietta and Hans Wacheldorf was born June 11, 1898 at Charter Oak, Iowa and died Monday, September 7, 1964 at a Sioux City hospital following a long illness, at the age of 66 years, three months and 26 days.

Mr. Wacheldorf was one of a family of ten children. He lived on a farm with his parents in the Charter Oak Community until he was 14 years old, when he moved with his family to a farm near Mapleton. As a young man he farmed in the Mapleton community and was later employed for many years by the John Deere Implement Company as a mechanic. In 1954 he moved from Mapleton to Anthon where he lived with his brothers. He then moved to Sioux City in 1957, where he resided for the remainder of his life. He was baptized into the Christian faith as an infant on March 19, 1899 and confirmed on July 11, 1914.

Survivors include three sisters, Miss Freda Wacheldorf of Sioux City, Mrs. Frank (Mabel) Pierce of Anthon; Mrs. Stanley (Regina) Bocian of Sioux City, three brothers, Emil of Mapleton; Louie of Sioux City; Bernard of Sioux City and sixteen nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.

Services were held Thursday, September 10, 1964 at 10:30 a.m. at the Walter Chapel in Mapleton with Rev. Carl Jensen officiating.

Pallbearers were: Albert R Forch, Racy Zedider, Lawrence Otto, Ralph Edgington, LaDean Hagerdon and John Collins.

Burial was in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Soldier Township, under the direction of the Walter Funeral Service.
