Mapleton, Iowa—Joseph Michael Flammang, 65, of Mapleton was dead on arrival at a Sioux City hospital April 21 after being stricken at home.

Services will be at 11 a.m. April 24 in St Mary’s Catholic Church at Mapleton. The Rev. Walter Bruch will officiate. The Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Apr 23 in the Walter Funeral Home. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Mr. Flammang was born Feb. 8, 1911 at Mapleton. He lived most of his life at Mapleton. He farmed for several years. He also worked for the Booth and Olson Construction Company for 26 years.

He retired two years ago because of ill health. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. He married Louis Kipp Jan. 3, 1929 at Mapleton.

Survivors include his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Jerome (Angela) Fischer of Wagner, S.D. and Mrs. Allen (Joella) Bingo of Cucamonga, California; four sons, Dick of Sioux City, Gerald of Paramount, California, LeRoy of Gardena, California and Cecil and Dick, both of Sioux City; 14 grandchildren; a great granddaughter; five sisters, Mrs. Margaret Bolster of Davenport, Mrs. Anna Muenchwrath of Rocky Ford, Alberta, Canada, Mrs. John (Dora) Heisler and Mrs. Mary Uhl, both of Mapleton and Mrs. Lena Kipp of LeMars, Iowa; a brother, Anton of Ontario, California.
