WHITING, Iowa -- Lyle Hamilin Hall of Tempe, Ariz., formerly of Whiting, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on his 91st birthday, Monday, Feb. 28, 2011.

East Resthaven Park Mortuary and Cemetery, Phoenix, Ariz., assisted the Hall family with arrangements.

Lyle was born in Whiting, to Dallas Glen Hall and Millie Huff. He moved to Tempe, where he met the love of his life Mildred Harris. They were married on Sept. 19, 1942. A native of Arizona, Mildred still lives in the home they bought in 1956, where they raised their five children. Lyle was a custom farmer in the greater Buckeye area up until he retired 10 years ago. He continued to make weekly trips to Buckeye just to check on the crops and to drop Mildred off for her ceramics class in Palo Verde, Ariz.

Lyle is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Mildred (Harris) Hall; children, Jerry (Zenna) Hall, Carolynn (Jerry) Lindstrom, Ronnie (Judy) Hall, Ladene Martin and Patty (Danny) Walker; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Keith Hall; and sister, Charlene Anderson.

He was preceded in death by three brothers Dallas Hall, Dennis Hall, Leo Hall; and by sister, Mavis Willey.
