SLOAN, Iowa -- Glenda Wiggs, 77, of Sloan passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011, at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting, Iowa.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at United Pentecostal Church in Onawa, Iowa, with the Revs. Brian Kinney and Steven Williams officiating. Burial will be in Belvidere Cemetery at Turin, Iowa. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Rush Family Care Service at Onawa.

Glenda Rae Wiggs was born Aug. 9, 1933, at Onawa, Iowa, the daughter of Joe and Bertha (Baker) Kirk Sr. She attended country schools and Whiting High School. Glenda and Merrill Wiggs were united in marriage Aug. 2, 1950, at Onawa. The couple lived most of their lives in the Sloan area.

Glenda was a member of United Pentecostal Church of Onawa and Life Church of Sioux City. She served more than 20 years on the Siouxland Aging Board. She will always be remembered as the greatest wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her husband, Merrill of Sloan; two sons and their wives, Dennis and Susan Wiggs of Onawa, and Douglas and Barbara Wiggs of Sloan; grandchildren, Kirk (Tiffany) Wiggs of Sloan, Teresa (Steven) Murray of Onawa, Jason (Alison) Wiggs of Whiting, and Rick (Jennifer) Wiggs of Whiting; 10 great-grandchildren, Jocelyn Murray, Ethan Wiggs, Brady Wiggs, Brooke Wiggs, Halle Murray, Jonah Wiggs, Collin Wiggs, Chloe Wiggs, Jake Wiggs and Keagan Wiggs; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Joe Kirk Jr., four sisters, Betty Kirk, Rosalie Sanders, Cleo Heck and Shirley Hofling.
