Louise Barbara Christina Seitzinger, age 82, died August 24, 1995 at John Knox Village in Weslaco, Texas.
A memorial service was held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Pharr, Texas on Wednesday, September 27, 1995, at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Ted Knies, Jr. officiating.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 21, 1995, at Walter-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton. Family burial will be just prior to the service at 10:30 a.m. at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Mapleton. Rev. Glenn Rankin will officiate.Louise was born January 10, 1913, in Woodbury County, Iowa, the daughter of Louis and Ann (Kragel) Scheer. She grew up in Western Nebraska in Sidney, having moved there when she was four years old. She married John Griffin Seitzinger March 23, 1942 in Love Lock, Nevada. The couple moved to Rio Grande Valley in May 1946, after Mr. Seitzinger’s was duty in the Army Engineers. He was associated with Oaks Irrigation headquartered in Pharr, Texas. John died December 4, 1975.
Louise was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Pharr where she also served in the Altar Guild and St. Clare’s Guild. She was also Trinity’s first women Senior Warden.
Along with this Louise was very active affairs and in the Pharr Memorial Library where she was honored as the Outstanding Friend of the Library in 1982. She was a charter member of the Booklovers Club.
Survivors include a sister, Mahela (Mae) Holt of Harlan, Iowa and five nieces and their families.
Along with her husband, John, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lorene (Schreer) Yockey, and a brother, Franklin Scheer.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Pharr Memorial Library or the Altar Guild at Trinity Episcopal Church in Pharr, Texas or to the charity of your choice.
