ONAWA, Iowa -- Nellie (Martin) Larson Sexton, 93, of Kingsley, Iowa, formerly of Onawa, passed away Monday, Feb. 14, 2011, at Kingsley Nursing and Rehab Center.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, with the Rev. Bert Burwell, Salem Lutheran Church, rural Correctionville, Iowa, officiating. Burial will be in Belvidere Cemetery, Turin, Iowa. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Condolences may be left on line at www.rushfamilycareservice.com.

Nellie was born Nov. 4, 1917, in Stirum, N.D., the 10th of 11 children born to John D. and Kate S. (Trumbauer) Martin.

Nellie and Leo Larson were united in marriage on March 12, 1941, in Britton, S.D. Three children were born to this union, Earl, Robert and Beverly. Later, Nellie married Eugene Sexton on May 29, 1971, in Sioux City. The couple farmed in Soldier, Iowa, before retiring to Onawa in May of 1975. Gene passed away in November 1997. Nellie maintained her home in Onawa before entering Kingsley Nursing and Rehab Center in the fall of 2005.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Earl and Dee Larson and Beverly and Bill Miers all of Kingsley; a daughter-in-law, Pat Larson of Onawa; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Larson; six brothers, Elmer, Russell, John David "JD", Fred, Charles, and Earl; and four sisters, Lettie, Sadie, Mable and May.
