19 August 2010ONAWA, Iowa -- Charlotte Adkins, 72, Battle Creek, Iowa, formerly of Onawa, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010, at Willow Dale Wellness Village in Battle Creek.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, with the Rev. LeRoy Reynolds officiating. There will be no visitation or burial.
Charlotte Louise was born Dec. 29, 1937, in Hornick, Iowa, the daughter of Roy Owen and May Evangeline (Ramsey) Beebe. She attended Hornick Public School and later Onawa Public School, when her family moved to Onawa. She later furthered her education at Neddleton Business College.
Charlotte and Kenneth D. Adkins were united in marriage on Dec. 15 1953, and four children were born to this union. Charlotte had various jobs before being an outreach worker for West Central Development in Logan, Iowa. She retired 10 years ago with more than 20 years of service.
She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles and most of all time spent loving and caring for her family.
Survivors include four children, Greg Adkins of Onawa, Deb Reynolds and husband, Bob of Sioux City, Gordon Adkins of Gowrie, Iowa, and Jeff Adkins and wife, Vicki of Sioux City; seven grandchildren, Ian and Debra Adkins, Angela Himes, Becky Walker, Zach and Mike Reynolds and Jamie Hanway; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Roberta Clayton of Battle Creek; and a brother, Roy Beebe of Onawa.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
