29 October 2010ONAWA, Iowa -- Edna M. Lee, 91, Onawa, formerly of Soldier, Iowa, passed away Thursday, Oct. 27, 2010, at Burgess Health Center in Onawa.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Faith Lutheran Church in Onawa, with the Rev. Barb Hansen officiating. Burial will be in Soldier Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.
Edna was born Nov. 23, 1918, in Charter Oak, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Nora (Olson) Larson. She attended school and graduated from Charter Oak High School in 1936. Edna entered Sioux City Academy of Beauty Culture and graduated in 1938. She then owned and operated a beauty shop in Charter Oak until 1945.
Edna and Clifford A. Lee were united in marriage on Jan. 25, 1940, in Charter Oak. The couple made their home in Soldier, before moving to Storm Lake, Iowa, in 1972. Ten years later, Clifford retired and they moved to Onawa.
Edna was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and WELCA in Onawa and Soldier Valley American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Clifford of Onawa; two sons and their wives, John and Donna Lee of Ogden Utah, and Alan and Carolyn Lee of Soldier; three daughters and their husbands, Jean and Richard Ruth of Onawa, Susan and Michael Miller of Moorhead, Iowa, and Melanie and Jon Hansen of Pleasant Hill, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Alma Glau of Denison, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and three sisters.
