26 June 2010SOLDIER, Iowa -- Margaret Marian (Rude) Gerdeman, 90, formerly of Soldier died Saturday, May 29, 2010, at Winterset Care Center North in Winterset, Iowa, where she had resided since 2005.
Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, July 11, in Jordan Township Cemetery, Monona County, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Brooks Funeral Care in Clive, Iowa.
Margaret was born May 14, 1920, to Andrew and Zada Rude, in Soldier. She graduated from Soldier High School in 1936, and attended Iowa State Teachers College, now UNI, where she received her teaching certificate. She taught at Lake Center School in Clay County, Iowa, before marrying Earl Gerdeman. They were married from 1942 until 1978. Earl died in 1994.
She is survived by her son, Richard, of Custer, S.D.; a daughter, Randall (Jerry) Parkin of rural Earlham, Iowa; her sister, Mary Jane Bromander of Onawa, Iowa; and numerous nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Royce; and son, Roger.
