.ONAWA, Iowa -- Hilda Mae Lorenzen, 99, of Onawa passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at her residence.

Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Onawa Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 to 11:15 a.m. Thursday at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa. Condolences may be left online for the family at rushfamilycareservice.com.

Hilda was born Jan. 6, 1911, in Portland, Mo., the daughter of Walter and Elizabeth (Gruber) McClellan. She had been a resident of Monona County since 1924.

Hilda and Otto Thomas Lorenzen were united in marriage on Sept. 11, 1929 in Onawa. The couple farmed in the Castana and Mapleton, Iowa area. Otto passed away May 5, 1990, in Onawa.

Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Helen Lorenzen of Ida Grove, Iowa, and Irene McClellan of Onawa; and many nieces, nephews, grand and great-grandnieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, John, Jim, Charlie and Edison McClellan; and four sisters, Anna Johnson, Mary Alice Decker, Leona Heller and Betty Bern.
