Mapleton, Iowa—Mrs. Linfred (Edith) Ahart, 86, of Correctionville, formerly of Mapleton, died Saturday in a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Boniface Catholic Church in Charter Oak. The Rev,. Richard Remmes, celebrant, and the Rev. Eugene Walding, concelebrant, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today in the Walter Funeral Home at Mapleton.

Mrs. Ahart, the former Edith I. Staley, was born July 11, 1895, at Charter Oak.

She married Linfred Ahart Jan. 25, 1921, at Charter Oak. They lived in Dow City until 1933 when they moved to a farm near Charter Oak. In 1953, they moved to a farm near Ute. Mr. Ahart died Feb. 27, 1964, at which time she moved to Mapleton. In October 1981, she moved to Correctionville to be near her daughter.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anthon and former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mapleton.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Francis (Claire) Gaul of Longview, Wash. And Mrs. R.J. (Elizabeth) Eickholt of Correctionville, one son, Dale of Sylmar, Calif., two sisters, Mrs. George (Florence) Meyers of Lake View and Mrs. Barney (Verna) Remmes of Charter Oak; two brothers, Paul and Frank, both of Charter Oak; 20 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
