Anna K. Babbe, 93, of Mapleton, died Saturday, November 24, 1984, at her home in Mapleton.

Services were at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 27, in St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Mapleton. The Rev. Philip Ritter officiated. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery under the direction of the Walter Funeral Home of Mapleton, Iowa.

Mrs. Babbe, the former Anna Rohde, was born June 23, 1891, to Theodore and Amelia (Jahn) Rohde in Mapleton,. She married Clement Babbe March 18, 1914, at Mapleton. They lived all their married life in the Mapleton community. He died September 4, 1980.

She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and four brothers.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Berniece Maynard and Mrs. Mildred King, both of Mapleton; two brothers, Theodore of Auburn, California and Edward of Everett, Washington; one sister, Mrs. Caroline Philips of Auburn, California; three grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Bob Jacobson, Ed Gosch, Gene Vanderbur, Arvin Kafton, Gilbert Rauterkus, and Claude Dean.
