Jack Lyman Babe was born at Pisgah, Iowa, on February 17, 1939, and died at Las Vegas, Nevada, on May 19, 1982. He had reached the age of 43 years, three months and two days.

He was the son of Dorrance Babe and Irene Bryant Babe who lived in the Moorhead area. Jack left Moorhead in 1956. He had been employed by Douglas Aircraft for 26 years. He was married to Sherry Bass on July 4, 1978, at Las Vegas.

Survivors are his wife Sherry of Las Vegas; one daughter, Brenda and one son, John, both of LaPalma, California; two step-sons, Christopher Bevan and Brian Bevan, both of Las Vegas; his mother, Mrs. Irene Babe, of San Pedro, California and a brother, Robert Babe, and a sister, Mrs. Christopher (Janice) Salazar both of San Pedro, California. He was preceded in death by his father, in 1969.

Graveside Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 1982, at Spring Valley Cemetery at Moorhead, Iowa, with Father Donald Smith officiating.

Bearers were Marvin Melby, Norman Kuhlman, John Moorhead, Ivan Nielsen, Glen Andrews and Darrell Losh.

Arrangements were by the Pearson Funeral Home of Soldier, Iowa.
