Mapleton, Iowa—Anna Andersen, 85, of Mapleton died unexpectedly Saturday in Mapleton.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church. The Rev. Philip Ritter will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. today in the Walter Funeral Home in Mapleton.

Mrs. Andersen, the former Anna D.M. Dose, was born May 16, 1897, at Maple River Junction, near Breda. She moved to the Danbury-Oto community with her parents as a child.

She married Marius V. Andersen October 18, 1915, at Sioux City. They farmed in the Oto community. He died in 1944 and she remained on the farm until 1950 when she moved to Mapleton.

Mrs. Andersen was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Church Women.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. George (Helen) DeBoer of Artesia, California, Mrs. Ralph (Mildred) Kounkel of LeMars and Mrs. Wayne (Evelyn) Coon of Oto, one son William of Gilmore City; two brothers, William of Mapleton and John of Anthon; one sister, Mrs. Pauline Nicolaisen of Holstein; seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
