Ruby M. Andersen, 75, of Mapleton, Iowa, was found dead Wednesday, April 15, 1987, at her home in Mapleton.

Mrs. Andersen, the former Ruby Uhl, was born January 18, 1912, in Mapleton. She married Claus Voss, February 27, 1933 in Mapleton. He died November 19, 1955. She was a lifelong member area resident. She married Sam Andersen December 1, 1956, at Mapleton. He died August 13, 1979.

Mrs. Andersen was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the church guild. She was a member of the Mapleton Camping Club, serving as past president and secretary. She was also a member of the Senior Citizen’s Group.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two husbands.

Survivors include a son, Richard “Rick” Voss of Carroll, Iowa; three brothers, Leonard and Orville, both of Sioux City, Iowa and Marvin of Onawa, Iowa and three grandchildren, Ryan, Jennifer and Jacque Voss.

Pallbearers were Claude Dean, Donald Wilson, Martin Thies, Leonard Reinbold, Glenn Edgington and Clifton Clark.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 1987, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mapleton. Monsignor A.W. Behrens officiated. Lillian Kuhlmann was organist with St. Mary’s Choir and Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Whiteing sang a duet. Burial was in the Parish Cemetery. The Rosary was recited Friday, April 17, 1987 at 7 p.m. in the Walter Funeral Chapel in Mapleton. Interment was in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Mapleton, Iowa, with Walter Funeral Service in charge of arrangements
