Perry Frederick Allen was the son of Norma and Charlotte Allen and was born in Monona County, Iowa May 18, 1883 and passed away March 11, 1924 at the age of 40 years, 9 months and 23 days.

His early life was spent on a farm near Smithland, Iowa, going from that place to Onawa, Iowa, at the age of 18 years he enlisted in the U.S. Army going direct to the Philippine Islands. He was there in the service of his country for about 17 years, most of this time being spent in the Philippines Islands. Two years was spent in the Western coast of the U.S. in the regular army work. He was mustered out in Montana, but again went into government service, this time being sent back to the Philippines on mounted patrol duty. He remained in this work until five years prior to his death, this time acting as merchant police in Manilla. His last illness was a about two years, having been sent to San Francisco, California on a government hospital transport in December 1923, and remaining in government hospital at that place until the time of his death.

His mother Charlotte King Allen, was the daughter of Samuel King, and saw much of the early pioneer life in Monona County. She preceded him in death in September 1894. He is survived by his father of Ticonic, Iowa and six sisters.

Mrs. Geo. Carroll, Mrs. Wm. Jenkins, Mrs. Robt Smothers and Mrs. Mable Anderson all of Ticonic, Mrs. Frank Volk of Steamboat Rock, Iowa and Miss Josephine Allen of Kerrick, Minn. His body will be laid to rest beside his mother in Center Cemetery.
