Arla Darlene Disrude Aiello, 71, of Pittsburg, CA. died Friday, January 22, 1999, at Crescent City, Ca.

Darlene was born July 26, 1927, at Pisgah, Iowa, the daughter of Carl Oscar and Merena (Longlee) Disrude. She was raised in Onawa, Iowa and moved to Pittsburg, Ca. in 1959.

She served as PTA president for several years at Pittsburg Elementary; past president of Pittsburg Women Chamber of Commerce; on the Board of Directors for Los Medanos Hospital; an officer of Pittsburg Retired Steelworkers including the Downtown Commerative Statue; an officer with Pittsburg Senior Citizen Center; and many years of March of Dimes Campaigns.

She is survived by her daughter and husband, Patricia and Acey Fanning of Phoenix, AZ., daughter, Barbara Bell of Thorton, CA, son, Kenneth Miller of Pittsburg, CA., daughter, Janet Wright of El Dorado Hills, CA., and a son and wife, Robert and Laura Miller, Sr. of Crescent City, CA. and three step-daughters, Nadine, Joanne and Frances, all of California; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 9, 1999, at Faith Lutheran Church, Onawa, Iowa, with Rev. Steve C. Hetzel officiating. The pianist, Mrs. Syril Brown played “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Abide With Me” for congregational singing.

Interment was in Soldier Lutheran and Church Cemetery, Soldier, Iowa, with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
