Murl Leola Alfredson, 85, Sloan, Iowa died Wednesday, March 3, 1993, At Elmwood Care Center in Onawa, Iowa.

She was born April 7, 1907 in Sloan, Iowa the daughter of Dave and Lovilla (Roberts) Fegenbush. On June 1, 1927, she married Albert “Barney” Alfredson in Albaton. He died December 25, 1986, in Sloan. She was a homemaker and had been a cook at the Lighthouse Marina Restaurant for five years. She had been a resident of Elmwood Nursing Home in Onawa for nine years.

She was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church and Covenant Women.

Survivors include; two sons, David of Sioux City and Everett of Sloan, 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two brothers, Leland and Bernard.

Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 1993, at the Evangelical Covenat church at Sloan with Rev. Russell Sizemore officiating. The pianist, Mrs. Sandra Marnell, accompanied the soloist, Mr. Terry Johnson, in the selections “In The Garden” and “Children of the Heavenly Father.”

Bearers were Curt Koenig, Winston Koenig, Keith Peterson, Vernon Alfredson, Gerald Alfredson and Terry Johnson.

Interment was in the Sloan Cemetery with arrangements by the Wood Funeral Home, Sloan, Iowa.
