Harvey Cecil Allen, the son of Joseph and Ella Allen, was born on March 14, 1900 at Onawa, Iowa and passed away in a Sioux City hospital on June 28, 1972. He had reached the age of 72 years, 3 months and 14 days.

Most of his life was spent in Onawa with the exception of two years in Sioux City and two years in Minneapolis. He is survived by five daughters, Martha DeWolf and Mrs. Gary (Cindy) Tieman of Sioux City, Iowa, Kathy Walker of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Alvin (Ruth) Johnson of Yuma, Arizona and Mrs. Kenneth (Betty) Schmidt of Merrill, Iowa; three sons, Harvey Jr. of San Diego, Calif., Roger E. Allen of Cherry Point, N. Carolina and Norman E. Allen of Sioux City, Iowa; one sister, Mrs. Louis (Blanche) Garritt of Onawa; two brothers, Robert Allen and Henry Green of Onawa. There are twenty grandchildren.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 30, 1972 at the Pearson Funeral Chapel in Onawa with Rev. Everett Epperson officiating. Clara Kelley was the organist. Bearers were Floyd Allen, Kenneth Schmidt, Robert Simpson, Bill Allen, Everett Allen and Vernon Meyers. Interment was in Kennebec Cemetery near Castana, with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home.
