Earl Allen was born May 9, 1893 at Maple Landing, in Monona County, Iowa. He passed from this life in the Burgess Memorial Hospital on June 3, 1970. Death came at the age of 77 years.

He was a long time resident of this community, having chosen farming as his vocation and spending id life time in this work.

Survivors include his one sister Mrs. Blanch Taylor and one brother, Marion Allen both of Onawa. There are a few other relatives and a number of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.

Services were held at the Pearson Chapel in Onawa, Iowa at 2 p.m. Friday, June 5, 1970 with the Rev. Everett Epperson officiating. Diane Epperson sang, “Going Down The Valley” and “The Old Rugged Cross,” accompanied by Clara Kelley at the organ. Bearers were Willis Rodman, Ralph Phipps, Dale Fender, Art Rodman, Keith Shull and Roy Anderson. Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home.
