Rosa Pearl Allen was born September 24, 1892 at Whiting, Iowa and passed away in a hospital in Swift Current, Sask, Canada on January 3, 1976 having reached the age of 83 years.

She was married to Ralph Allen, August 22, 1910 at Onawa, Iowa. In their childhood days they both grew up in the Onawa and Whiting communities. After Mr. and Mrs. Allen were married they went to Canada to make their home and to this union twelve children were born.

Mr. Allen passed away June 27, 1962 in Swift Current, Sask. She also was preceded in death by her father and mother, John and Lydia Hughes who lived at Whiting, Iowa, one son and two daughters, two brothers and one sister, Eugene of Whiting, Calvin of Sergeant Bluff and Garnet George of Chicago.

Survivors include her four sons and five daughters living in Canada and three sisters, Mrs. Jennie Kratz of Whiting, Mrs. Hazel Delashmutt of Omaha, Nebr., and Mrs. Josie Hogencamp of Sioux City and three brothers, Glen Hughes of Pine Bluffs, Arkansas, Milton Hughes of Omaha, Nebraska and Johnnie Hughes of Onawa. A sister-in-law Blanche Taylor of Onawa and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Interment was in the Memory Gardens Cemetery at Swift Current, Sask, Canada with arrangements by the Culhams’s Funeral Home.
