17 June 1999Walter F. Andresen, 87, of Pisgah, Iowa, died June 11, 1999, at his resident in Pisgah.
Walter was born May 19, 1912, at Denison, Iowa, the son of George and Anna (Rogge) Andresen. On September 20, 1933, he married Caroline Wendt at Charter Oak, Iowa. The couple farmed near Moorhead for Joe Sorenson from 1945-1974. Mrs. Andresen died July 26, 1973, at Onawa. He retired from farming in 1980 and moved into Pisgah in 1983.
He was a member of the Christian Church at Moorhead.
Survivors include two daughters, Florence and her husband, Francis Hagerman of Pisgah, Iowa and Nancy Lund of Anita, Iowa; six grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and one sister and her husband, Irene and Rex Littleton of Denison, Iowa and nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one daughter, Helen Marie; two brothers, William and Wilbur; and four sisters, Marie, Hilda, Edna and Esther.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 14, 1999, at the Moorhead Christian Church in Moorhead, Iowa, with Pastor John Eilers officiating. The organist, Mrs. Conni Anderson, played the selections “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Beyond The Sunset.”
Honorary Bearers were Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
Active Bearers were Ivyn Lund, Jr., Loryn Lund, Nyle Lund, Bradley Hagerman, Tami Dickinson and Steven Dickinson.
Interment was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery at Denison, Iowa with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa.
A prayer service was held at 7 p.m. Sunday, June 13, 1999 at the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa with Evangelist John Lizer officiating.
