10 August 1989Dana L. Adkins Conrad, 55, of Omaha and formerly of Sioux City, died Friday, July 21, 1989 in a nursing home in Omaha after a long illness.
Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 8, in Southside Chapel of Crosby-Kunold, Burket-Swanson and Golden Mortuary in Omaha, with the Rev. Nancy Brink officiating,. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery in Omaha.
Mrs. Conrad, the former Dana Adkins, was born April 3, 1934, in Onawa, Iowa, and received her education there,. She lived in Sioux City from 1954 to 1965 where she attended business school. She was employed at the Sioux City Air Base. On December 26, 1964, she married John W. Conrad Jr. The couple made their home in Omaha.
Survivors include her husband; a son, John W. III of Omaha; her mother, Isabel Willey of Sioux City; a brother, Jerry A Adkins of Memphis, Tennessee; four sisters, Joan Howard and Pauline Benson, both of Anchor Point, Alaska, Linda Craft and Janelle Towns, both of Sioux City, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial has been established in her name with the ALS Foundation (Lou Gehrigs Disease) in care of the family.
