Anthon, Iowa—Hilda Alma Emma Kollbaum, 83, of Anthon died Wednesday, December 9, 1998, at Sunrise Retirement Home in Sioux City.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Anthon, with the Rev. Michael Harman officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon.

Mrs. Kollbaum was born December 16, 1914, near Mapleton, Iowa, the daughter of Karl and Elizabeth (Diersen) Fick. She lived in Monona County through the eighth grade.

She married Walter Kollbaum on November 14, 1932, in Elk Point, S.D. The couple lived with his parents for eight years near Ida Grove. In 1941, the4y bought a farm near Anthon. He died August 5, 1970.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include four sons and their wives, LaVerne and Charlene and Larry and Alice, all of Sergeant Bluff, Roger and Patricia of Storm Lake, Iowa, and Garry and Susan of Moville, Iowa; a daughter and her husband, LaDonna and Robert Downing of Omaha, Nebr.; a brother, Ernest Fick of Sergeant Bluff; a sister, Alvina Miller of Sergeant Bluff; 16 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Herman and Carl; and three sisters, Elsie Sands, Edna Barnes and Clara Hahn.
