Anthon, Iowa—Irven T. Lorenzen, 85, of Anthon died Sunday, February 15, 1998, at Morningside Care Center in Ida Grove, Iowa.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon, with the Rev. Roger Maize officiating. Private burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Mr. Lorenzen was born June 5, 1912, near Castana, Iowa, the son of Thomas and Caroline (Hass) Lorenzen.

He married Helen Buck on April 12, 1933, in Onawa, Iowa. The couple farmed in the Castana area and later moved to Anthon. He retired in 1978 and moved into Anthon. He entered the Morningside Care Center in October 1996.

Survivors include his wife; a son and his wife, Duane and Lucy of Belvedere, Illinois; two daughters and their husbands, Donna and Charles Watt of Ida Grove and Joyce and Tom Oertel of Boydton, Va., two sisters, Ella McClatchey of Manilla, Iowa, and Elsie Lutes of Marshalltown, Iowa; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Arnold and Otto, and a sister, Anna McClatchey.
