She also enjoyed caring for the livestock, cooking, canning, baking bread, and the special apple pies she baked for her grandchildren. Decorating her home with Christmas lights at the holidays brought her pleasure as well. She was a physically active person until just recently, having walked lots of bean fields and taking long walks. She cleaned houses, two special ones being the Rev. Smith in Onawa and the Rev. Walding in Charter Oak. She enjoyed the many birthday parties she shared with family and friends.

Survivors left to cherish the memory of Alice include her husband, Donald; one daughter, Arlene McCall of Dallas, Texas; two sons and their wives, Norman and Candy McCall of Enid, Okla., and Kenneth and Phyllis McCall of Oklahoma City, Okla.; six grandchildren, Joshua McCall and his wife, Adi, Joel McCall, Heather Nicole Crockett, Amber Christine McCall, Malissa Payne, and Dustin Narkaus and his wife, Jessica; five great-grandchildren, Brenden and Alek McCall and Sheryl, Kristen, and Ashley Narkaus; and one brother, Clair Prokop of Mapleton, Iowa.
