CASTANA, Iowa -- Lillian Marjorie Struble, 97, Castana passed away Monday, May 3, 2010, at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton, Iowa.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, Iowa, with the Rev. Todd Owen officiating. Burial will be in Jordan Township Cemetery, Soldier, Iowa. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Lillian Marjorie Struble was born Sept. 19, 1912, on a farm near Belgrade, Nance County, Neb., the youngest daughter of Charles and Nellie (Reeves) Madison. The family moved to the Soldier-Ute communities in Iowa, where she attended various country schools. She entered Soldier Community School in the sixth grade and graduated in 1932.

Lillian married Everett Struble on Sept. 19, 1932, in Belgrade Neb. Four children were born to this union, Virginia, Donna, Jerry, and Ron. In 1933, the couple made their home on the Struble family farm, where she lived until entering the Maple Heights Nursing Home in 2008.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Onawa and enjoyed the Lord, her family, crocheting, flowers, and yard work.

Lillian leaves to mourn her death three children, Virginia Dale of Elkhorn, Neb., Jerry and his wife, Gloria Struble of Castana, and Ron and his wife, Sharon Struble of Escondido, Calif.; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; plus many other family, friends, and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett; her parents, Charles and Nellie; a daughter, Donna Struble who passed away in 1942; a son-in-law, Del Dale; three sisters, Ruth, Ollie and Eva; and an infant brother, Norris.
