WHITING, Iowa -- Jacqueline J. Roddewig, 75, of Whiting passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting.

Memorial services will be 5 p.m. Friday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City. Burial will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.

She was born May 16, 1934, to Wilbur H. Roddewig and Marjorie L. (Holmberg) Roddewig. She received her education in Sioux City, graduating from Central High School. She later attended various community colleges. She served in the Korean War as a member of the WAVES with the U.S. Navy.

Jacqueline spent the majority of her life in Oregon and later returned to Sioux City in 1990. She was employed in the printing business for a number of years and was once head of printing in the state of Oregon.

She loved to fish and had a great love for animals and the outdoors. She was an avid women's AAU softball player. She also liked playing cards with her family and playing bingo.

Survivors include two sisters, Diana Kovarna and her fiance, Bob Treiber of Danbury, Iowa, and Sandra (Burnell) Stone of Coleridge, Neb.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Patricia Roddewig and Linda Roddewig.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sioux City Humane Society, 1015 Tri-View Avenue, Sioux City, IA. 51103.
