MOORHEAD, Iowa -- Stephen C. Easton, 92, of Moorhead passed away Friday, July 23, 2010 at Burgess Health Center in Onawa, Iowa.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Spring Valley Cemetery in Moorhead, with Pastor Tim Koehn of Onawa Evangelical Free Church officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Rush Family Care Service at Onawa.

Stephen Carlisle Easton was born May 29, 1918, at Hamilton, Ohio, the son of Carlisle and Uella Fern (Keller) Easton. He was raised in Hamilton and graduated from Hamilton High School in 1936. He was employed at Estate Stove after high school and helped on his grandfather's farm.

Steve and Dorothy Snively were united in marriage on Feb. 24, 1945, at New Port, Ky. Steve was supervisor of United Welding many years before his retirement in the '80s. He and Dot enjoyed many years living in Middletown, Ohio and rural West Elkton, Ohio and spending winters in Arizona before moving to Moorhead in 2002 to be near their family.

Steve was of the Methodist faith. He was a dedicated, hard worker and enjoyed traveling and being with friends and family.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Moorhead; a son and his wife, Stephen Mark and Phyllis Easton of Moorhead; a grandson and his wife, Darren and Meghan Easton of Madison, Wis.; two great-grandchildren, Molly Bridgette and Eileen Grace Easton; and a sister and her husband, Barbara and Orville Weyrich of Hillsboro, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, John and Daniel Easton.

Memorials may be directed to the Moorhead Fire and Rescue Units or the Moorhead Legion Auxiliary.
