.BLENCOE, Iowa -- James J. Marley, 82, of Blencoe died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, at Community Memorial Hospital at Missouri Valley, Iowa.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Blencoe with the Rev. Alfred E. McCoy officiating. Burial will be Graceland Cemetery at Blencoe. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at Rush Family Care Services at Onawa.

Mr. Marley was born March 6, 1919, in Onawa, the son of M.W. and Mary (Clodfelter) Marley. He graduated from Blencoe High School in 1935. He married Bette Torticill on May 16, 1942, in Blencoe. The couple were life long farmers in the area.

He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters and their husbands, Mary Ann and Paul Lage of Omaha, Teresa and Dennis McCandles of Moorhead, Iowa; three sons, Joseph L. and his wife, Ann of Milwaukee; Patrick and his wife, Charlene of St. Paul, Minn., and Michael W. of Blencoe; 25 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister and her husband, Dorothy and John Daley of Omaha; and a brother, Robert of Blencoe.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Thomas James; a sister, Frances Knox; a brother, Leo W.; an infant brother, John Allen; and an infant sister, Betty Rose.
