Funeral Services Are Held In Christian Church For Fall Victim
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon for James Christon White, 84 years old resident of Mapleton who passed away Monday evening following a fall on the ice at the home of his son and daughter-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer White of Mapleton.
Rites were held in the Christian church in Mapleton with Rev. Gand of Onawa officiating. Interment was in Mount Hope Cemetery near Mapleton, with the Byers funeral home of Mapleton in charge. Albert Wiggs, Frank Passick, Ross Dorothy, R.A. Mester, Lee Henry and Bob Kenny served as pallbearers.
Mr. White was born at Benton, Iowa, January 11, 1868. He was united in marriage to Ellen O’Donnell at Laka, Mo, January 18, 1894. He resided at Arsburn, Mo. before his marriage, after his marriage at Laka, Mo. and for the past 21 years lived in Mapleton. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Christian Church.
Surviving are 3 sons, William White, address unknown; Clide D. White of Omaha and Elmer J White of Mapleton in whose home he was residing at the time of his death; one daughter, Mrs. Hester L. Ferdig of Onawa; one sister Kather Roberts of Arsburn, Mo., 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. His wife, 2 daughters and a son preceded him in death
