Darrell Eugene Carlson, 56, Sioux City, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 1992, at a Sioux City hospital after a short illness.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, Sioux City. Rev. Laurice Streyfler, pastor of Wesley United Methodist church, Sioux City, officiated. Burial was in Memorial Park cemetery in Sioux City.
Mr. Carlson was born Oct. 21, 1936, in Blencoe, Iowa, the son of Alfred and Nettie (Peterson) Carlson. He graduated from Leeds high school and had lived in Sioux City for several years. He married Irene F. Rightmire April 26, 1981 in Las Vegas. He worked as a truck driver for many years for Premiere Trucking and Irving Jensen Construction Co., Sioux City. Mr. Carlson was a member of the Hawkeye Brittany club.
Survivors include his wife; five sons, Brad and his wife, Dawn and Ralph and his wife, Patty, all of Sioux City, Doug and his wife, Patty, all of Sioux City, Doug and his wife, Beth of rural Akron, Rob and his wife Nicki and Randy, all of Tulsa, Okla.; a daughter, Coza Huffman of Tulsa, Okla.; his mother, Nettie Carlson of Sioux City; two brothers and their wives, Donald and Gladys of Olt, Mo., and Lynn and Sandy of Merrill; two sisters and their husbands, Delores Townley and Lynn of Sioux City and Erma Comstock and Verne of St. Cloud, Minn.,; and 22 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father.
