Ellen Ceclia Anderson, 84, second of six children of Andrew and Anna Anderson was born June 3, 1896 on a farm near Castana, Iowa and passed away February 10, 1981 at Sac Osage Hospital in Osceola, Mo. after a long illness.

As a girl she attended a one room rural school and graduated from high school at Castana.

On September 23, 1914 she was married to Axel Tronstrom. To this union one daughter, Mae, was born. They farmed near Soldier, Iowa until they moved in 1946 to a farm near Roscoe, MO. where they spent the rest of their lives.

She was a member of the Lutheran Church at Soldier. Before moving to Missouri, she had earned a 25 year pin as 4-H leader and was active in Women’s Extension Club work and in Jordan Ladies Aid of the Lutheran Church. In Missouri, she was one of the Charter members of the jolly Farmers Club.

She spent most of her life in service to others, including caring for her blind and invalid husband for 15 years. She was well known for her quilting, crocheting and knitting. Her friends will miss stopping by for “coffee lunch” which included homemade cookies or cinnamon rolls.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother and three sisters.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mae and Roy Keeton of R4, El Dorado Springs, Mo., one sister, Hulda Higgins of Onawa, Iowa, three grandchildren, Vera Keeton of Stockton, John Keeton of Indianapolis, Ind. And Robert Keeton of Stockton, also four great- grandchildren, as well as many other relatives and a host of friends. She will be greatly missed.

Services were held at the Goodrich Chapel in Osceola on February 13, with Rev. J.W. Strange officiating. Music was furnished by Paul and Dorsha Hooper. Bearers were Jay Ballew, Robert Bell, Sr., Blond Cochran, Clifton Dawson, Carl Nitsche, Jr. and Dennis Smith. Interment was in Pleasant Springs Cemetery at Oyer.

Relatives attending from Iowa were Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Hadden of Soldier and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Black from Onawa.
