Lavera (Allen) Olson, 67, of El Centro, California, formerly of the Blencoe/Onawa, Iowa area, died Saturday, December 24, 1994, at a hospital in Brawley, California.

She was born May 3, 1927, in Onawa, the daughter of Hiram A. and Lenora Elsie (Holeton) Allen. She was raised in the Blencoe and Onawa areas and graduated from the Onawa High School. She married Carleton Olson. She had resided in California for the last 42 years and was employed by the Civil Service Commission as a secretary for thirty years before retiring.

Survivors include two sons, Allen Olson and his wife, Laurel, of San Diego, California and their children, Kristien and Robert, and Roddy Olson of El Centro, California, and his daughter, Monica and her husband, Frank Rodriguez, and their children, Aaron and Syvana; five sisters, Celia Holverson of Sloan, Iowa, Evelyn Calif of South Sioux City, NE., Jessie Allen of Sioux City, Iowa; Laura and her husband, Leonard Harding of Stevensville, Montana, and Amy and her husband, Niles Pierce of Burlington, Washington; five brothers, Arthur Allen of Iowa City, Iowa, John Allen and his wife, Dorothy of Dexter, Oregon, Lloyd Allen and his wife, Pat of Longview, Washington, Joseph “Bud” Allen and his wife, Mary of Soldier, Iowa and Everett Allen and his wife, Nancy, of Onawa; and a brother-in-law, Melvin Selby of Tacoma, Washington.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, David Allen, Kenneth “Jack” Allen and George Allen; and two sisters, Esther Gregg and Viola Selby.
