Mapleton, Iowa—Lavina L. Price, 68, of Mapleton, died Thursday at the Onawa hospital.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John’s United Methodist Church, Mapleton, with the Rev. Stephen Root officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Mapleton. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Friday, with a 7:30 p.m., prayer service at the Walter-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton.

Mrs. Price was born Nov. 27, 1924, at Soldier, daughter of Oscar and Anna Faye (Ball) Larson. The family farmed in the Soldier/Ute area. She graduated from Ute High School in 1942, and married Everett Price Nov. 6, 1946, at Ute. Other than a year in Soldier, she lived all her life at Mapleton. She worked at Lloyd’s Variety Store. Anna’s Greenhouse, the Mapleton Greenhouse and Kraft Clothing, all in Mapleton.

She was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church and had been a past member of the Church of Christ of Mapleton, where she headed the Vacation Bible School and Bible School, served as treasurer and taught Sunday school.

Survivors include her husband; a son and his wife, Mike and Kathee of Mapleton; a daughter and her husband, Connie and Gary Johnson of Ida Grove; two sisters, Ruth Hagerdon of Smithland and Burnetta Melby of Soldier; two grandchildren, Corey and Caree Price, and a sister-in-law, Joanne Larson of Omaha.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, LeRoyce.
