20 September 1993Soldier, Iowa—Francis W. “Bus” Reedy, 85, of Onawa and formerly of Soldier, died Sunday, September 19, 1993 at the Elmwood Care Center in Onawa.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Soldier Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Thomas R. Hagen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. today at the Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa.
Mr. Reedy was born July 21, 1908 at Dunlap, Iowa, son of Reesa and Edith (Smith) Reedy. He married Gladys Nelson, December 11, 1931 at Dakota City, Nebraska. He was a farmer and had worked as a grocery store clerk in Dunlap. He was baptized in Dunlap’s Congregational Church. He had been a resident of the care center for the past 18 months.
He was a member of the Soldier Lutheran Church and had served on various church boards. He was a past member of the Soldier Co-op Board of Directors.
Survivors include his wife; a niece, Judy Baker of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a nephew, Keith “Buddy” Jeffcoach of Salinas, Calif.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Carl Reese and Francis Nelson, a sister, Ione Jeffcoach.
