Lyle W Clemon, 60, 1300 S Patterson St. died Saturday in an Omaha hospital after a long illness.

Mr. Clemon was born Jan. 18, 1918, at Soldier, Iowa. He married Eleanor Severson June 23, 1944, at Soldier. Mr. Clemon farmed near Soldier before World War II. He moved to Sioux City in 1950. He was employed by Nutrena Mills for 26 years before retiring last year due to ill health.

Mr. Clemon was a World War II veteran and a member of Morningside Lutheran Church and Monahan Post 64, American Legion.

Survivors include the widow, three sons, Gary A. f Newton, Iowa, and Warren L. and Neal O., both of Sioux City; one daughter, Mrs. James (Carol) Sanders of Idaho Falls, Idaho; his mother, Mrs. Minnie Clemon of Onawa, Iowa; three brothers Vernon of Soldier and Myrland and Russell both of Onawa; and eight grandchildren.

Arrangements are pending at the Nelson-Berger Funeral Home in Morningside.

A memorial in Mr. Clemon’s name has been established with the American Cancer Society.
