4 October 2000Mapleton, Iowa—Phyllis Rose Brenner, 75, of Mapleton died Monday, October 2, 2000 at Willow Dale Care Center in Battle Creek, Iowa.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Danbury, Iowa, with the Rev. Mark Harrington officiating. Burial will be in Danbury Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today with a rosary said by St. Mary’s Rosary Society at 3 p.m. and a vigil wake service at 7:30 p.m. at the church. Visitation will resume at 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Armstrong Funeral Home of Danbury and Mapleton.
Mrs. Brenner was born May 27, 1925, in Bloomfield, Nebr., the daughter of Carl and Rose (Petsche) Moser. She graduated in 1943 from Danbury High School. She then moved to Sioux City, where she was employed with John Deere.
She married Marvin Brouillette on July 22, 1947, in Danbury. He died March 14, 1958.
She married Loren Brenner on Feb. 27, 1960 in Danbury. The couple made their home on a farm near Danbury.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Rosary Society, Diocesan Council of Catholic Women and American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards and dancing.
Survivors include her husband; three sons and their wives, Gary and Pat Brouillette and Doug and Carma Brouillette, all of Mapleton and Tom and Gaylene Brouillette of Danbury; three daughters, Kay Brouillette of Omaha, Mary and her husband, Dave Wittry and Lisa and her husband, Russ Schelle, all of Breda, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; three sisters, Frances Brummer of Mapleton, Irene Buschkamp of Escondido, Calf. And Ellen Weber of Danbury; and four brothers and their wives, Gene and Mary Moser and Don and Katie Moser, all of Danbury, Dennis and Betty Moser of Marcus, Iowa and Loren and Bev Moser of LaMesa, Calf.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, James.
Pallbearers will be Gary, Doug and Tom Brouillette, Dave Wittry, Russ Schelle and Mike Brenner.
