Mrs. Aurenia C. Thompson, daughter of Aaron and Adaline Fosdick, passed away Monday January 10th 1955 in Onawa after an extended illness. Mrs. Thompson was born December 7, 1882 at Bloomington, Illinois and was 72 years, one month and 4 days of age. She had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Alvin Hyatt for some time. She came to Onawa in 1936 to make her home after living at Mondamin for many years. During the years from 1956 to 1951 she made her home at Little Sioux, Iowa. On January 25, 1905 she was united in marriage with Ervin H. Thompson at Missouri Valley, Iowa. He preceded her in death 6 years ago. Mrs. Thompson was a member of the Rebekah Lodge of Little Sioux, Iowa and the Baptist church at Missouri Valley, Iowa.

Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Lillian Cummins and Mrs. Alvin Hyatt both of Onawa, Mrs. Francis Thomas at Little Sioux, Iowa and Mrs. Clayton Coberly, Sioux City, Iowa; Mrs. Esther Moore of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Five sons, C Edwin Thompson, Torrington, Wyo; Paul Everett Thompson, Davenport, Iowa; Lester L. at Storm Lake, Iowa; Earl H., East Moline, Ill., Clyde F. Council Bluffs, Iowa; one brother, Charles Fosdick, Pontiac, Mich.; Two sisters, Mrs. George Gee, Mondamin, Iowa; Mrs. Joseph Jones, Salt Lake City, Utah; Thirty-five grand children. Three sons, Roy H, Walter and Irvin Jay, one sister and five brothers precede her in death.

Funeral services were held on Thursday January 13th at 1:30 p.m. at the First Christine church in Onawa with Rev Everett Epperson conducting. Mrs. Orland Ferris sang accompanied by Mrs. Carl Linden.

Bearers are the five sons, Edwin, Paul, Lester, Earl and Clyde Thompson and a son-in-law, Clayton Coberly. Interment in the old town cemetery at Missouri Valley, with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral home.
