Steven Ray Muller, 40, of Hornick, Iowa, died Wednesday, January 10, 2001, at his home near Rodney, Iowa of natural causes.

He was born January 27, 1960, at Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Raymond R. and Maryann (Arens) Muller. He attended Whiting Community School from Kindergarten through the 12th grade. He graduated in May 1978 from Whiting High School and attended Iowa State University. He farmed with his father and ran cattle and horses at Rodney, Iowa.

He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Onawa, Iowa, the Iowa Cattleman’s Association and Monona County Farm Bureau.

He is survived by his parents; one sister, Pamela and her husband, James Miller of Denver, Co; two nephews, Jonathan and Ryan Miller; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

A Scripture Service and Rosary were held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 14, 2001 at the Pearson Funeral Chapel in Onawa, Iowa with Deacon Tom Morgan, officiating.

The funeral Mass was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 15, 2001, at St. John Catholic Church in Onawa with Father Frank Nemmers, Mass Celebrant. The organist was Mrs. James Stangel. Mr. David Hausman sang “Abide With Me” and “On Eagles Wings”. The organist played “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art”.

Casket Bearers were Douglas Wiggs, Mike Muller, James Arens, Mark Fegenbush, Tom Green and Joseph D. Arens.

Interment was at 3:30 p.m. Monday, January 15, 2001 in St. Joseph Cemetery at Constance, Ne. with Father Greg Benkowski officiating. Arrangements were by Pearson Funeral Home and Cremation Service at Onawa.
