Marieta G. Tucker, age 85, died December 26, 1991, at her daughter’s home in Stoughton. She was born January 1, 1906, to John Arthur and Hattie Mae Combs in Markham, Texas. She was raised in Bay City, Texas and at the age of 18 moved to Whiting, Iowa to be with her father. She met John Preston Tucker at Richland, SD while visiting relatives. They were married in her father’s house in 1926. The couple then moved to Beaver Dam, Wisconsin in 1934, they moved to Big Spring where they have resided ever since. Marieta worked as a nursing assistant at Divine Savior Hospital in Portage until 1966, when she became a fulltime home-maker. Her husband, John Preston Tucker preceded her in death as did one son, Charles Richard Tucker.

Survivors include three daughters, Nita T (Peter) Berno of Stoughton, Eleanor F. (Leland) Palmer of Wisconsin Dells and Virginia Stevens of Clinton, Wisconsin; one son, David W. Tucker of Big Spring; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Ellen Tucker.

Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday December 29 and the funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. with George William Genzler officiating at the Fedderly Funeral Home of Wisconsin Dells.
