SOLDIER, Iowa -- Robert "Bob" D. Halverson, 70, of Largo, Fla., formerly of Soldier, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at Bay Pines (FL) V.A. Health Care System.

Arrangements were under the direction of Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Born in Soldier, Iowa, Robert was a U.S. Air Force veterans and a Lutheran.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joyce L. Halverson; two daughters, Nancy D. (David) Blount of Largo, Fla., and Aubrey L. Halverson of San Diego, Calif.; a son, Todd R. (Nancy) Halverson of Alpharetta, Ga.; four grandchildren, Kyle and Michael Blount, Chase and Riley Halverson; and three sisters, Nancy (Gary) Carlson of Lake Ozark, Mo., Carole (Don) Thoreson of Ankeny, Iowa, and Jean (Curtiss) Nepper of Ute, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bay Pines VAHCS, Hospice Unit, Ward 5C, P.O. Box 5005, Bay Pines, FL 33744.
