Ernestine Elinor Riddle passed away October 20, 1996 at Sioux City, Iowa at the age of 95 years, 8 months, 2 days.

Ernestine was born February 18, 1901, near Mapleton, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest and Martha (Bailey) Ridley. On March 30, 1918, she was united in marriage to Brady Riddle in Mapleton. The couple lived in the Ute and Castana, Iowa areas. Brady died December 24, 1969.

Ernestine was a member of the Christian Church in Ute where she taught Sunday school. She was a former 4-H leader and member of the Sunshine Club. She also offered many hours of volunteer work at multiple nursing homes.

Ernestine found pleasure in being an avid quilter and baseball fan.

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Hazel Hanson of Castana, Iowa and Neva Olson of Douglas, Arizona: two sons and their wives, Myron and Diane Riddle of Hartington, Nebraska and Leonard and Frances Riddle of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin: a brother, Alfred Ridley of Des Moines, Iowa: 23 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren and 51 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sons, Charles, Floyd and Loren Riddle; three grandsons, a great-grandchild and a sister, Alice Davis.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 23, 1996 at 10:30 a.m. at the Christian Church in Ute, Iowa with Pastor James McIntosh officiating , Joyce Hanson, organist gave the message in music. Pallbearers were John Riddle, Mark Riddle, Ryan Riddle, Harvey Hanson, Gary Riddle, Marvin Riddle, Brady Hanson. Interment was in St. Clair Cemetery, Ute, Iowa.

Armstrong Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
