Onawa, Iowa—Beverly E. Comstock, 56, of Onawa died of cancer Sunday, February 6, 2000.

Services are at 1 p.m. today at Rush Family Care Chapel in Onawa, with Randy Gotto as speaker. Burial will be on Onawa Cemetery. No visitation.

Mrs. Comstock was born December 5, 1943, in Winnebago, Nebraska, the daughter of LeRoy and Alice (Goslin) Rhodd. She married Gary Comstock on March 26, 1960, in Council Bluffs. She belonged to Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Laura and her husband, Donald Kuhlmann and Angela Comstock, all of Onawa; three sons, Wayne and Gary Jr., both of Onawa and Kevin of Nashville, Tenn; three grandchildren, Courtney Comstock and Caleb and Emily Kuhlmann; her father; two brothers, John and Francis, both of Council Bluffs; three sisters, Charlene Kelly and Gloria Morales, both of Onawa and Joyce Brown of Omaha; and a niece whom she raised, Nicole Rhodd.

She was preceded in death by her mother and a brother, Edgar.

Pallbearers will be Maurice Lunda, Lloyd Fetter, Kenny Gray, Dave Riffey, Joe and James Huntley.

Beverly E. Comstock, 56, lost her courageous five month battle with cancer on Sunday, February 6, 2000 at her home in Onawa.

Beverly was born December 5, 1943 at Winnebago, NE, the daughter of LeRoy and Alice (Goslin) Rhodd. She was married to Gary Comstock March 26, 1960 at Council Bluffs, Iowa.

The joys of Bev’s life where her love for God, Jehovah, her love for her family and friends, her love for her grandchildren; Courtney, Caleb and Emily, which extended to all young people who knew her. Beverly was a wonderful seamstress, having a great joy in sewing. Her life also included a prosperous Avon business.

Bev’s final wish was to be at home with her family and friends. With the loving care of Burgess Hospice Nurses, she was able to live with dignity and comfort. Her final days she was surrounded by her family and friends which was a great comfort to her.

She was a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Survivors include her husband Gary, two daughters Laura and her husband Donald Kuhlmann and Angela Comstock all of Onawa; three sons Wayne and Gary Jr. both of Onawa, and Kevin of Nashville, TN.; three grandchildren Courtney Comstock and Caleb and Emily Kuhlmann; her father Le Roy Rhodd; two brothers John and Francis both of Council Bluffs; three sisters Charlene Kelly and Gloria Morales both of Onawa, and Joyce Brown of Omaha; and a niece Nicole Rhodd who she raised.

She was preceded in death by her mother and a brother Edgar.

Services were held Wednesday, February 9, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. at Rush Family Chapel with Randy Gotto, Speaker. Special music was “Life Without End, At Last”. Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery. Visitation was held 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Rush Family Chapel.

Casket bearers were Maurice Lunda, Lloyd Fetter, Kenny Gray, Dave Riffey, Joe Huntley and James Huntley.

Honorary Bearers were Norval Dunbar, Jeff Ince, Rick Wellenstein, Caleb Kuhlmann, Cody Huntley and Daniel Young.

Arrangements were under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa.
