Ruby M. Sisson, 87, Elmwood Care Centre, Onawa, Iowa, died Friday, February 4, 2000 at St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.

Ruby was born November 29, 1912, at Whiting, Iowa, the daughter of Jess and Zella (Dahl) Keele. She was raised in the Blencoe and Whiting areas and graduated from Blencoe High School and later taught school at Dahl Country School near Whiting.

She was married to Clint Sisson on December 24, 1931 at Dakota City, Nebraska. The couple farmed near Mapleton 5 years and later near Onawa and Blencoe areas until retiring to Onawa in 1993.

She was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, Blencoe and Blencoe American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing and quilting.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Sharon and Baymard Willey of Onawa and Shirley and Otis Denny of Castana; four grandchildren and their spouses, Greg and Rhonda Willey, Onawa, Mike and Judy Denney of Schaller, Iowa, Julie and Norm Stone of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Doug and Patricia Denney of Nashua, NH, and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers, Marvin, George, Newell, Elliot and Edward.

Funeral services were held Tuesday 10:30 a.m. February 8, 2000 at First Congregational United Church of Christ, Onawa, with Rev. Earle R. Potts officiating. Musical selections “One Day At A Time” and “Amazing Grace” were sung by Becky Marcum, Lynette Musack was organist. Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery. Visitation was held Monday 4-8 p.m. at the Rush Family Chapel with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Casket bearers were Greg Willey, Mike Willey, Norm Stone, Mike Denny, Eric Denny and Doug Denny.

Arrangements were under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.
