Moorhead, Iowa—Rowena Lamb Holz, 95, of Moorhead died Saturday, February 19, 2000 at Dunlap Care Center in Dunlap, Iowa.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Moorhead Christian Church, with the Rev. John Eilers officiating. Burial will be in Spring Valley Cemetery.. Rush Family Care Service of Onawa, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Holz was born October 17, 1904, in Moorhead, the daughter of Ben and Lulu (Wood) Adams. She spent her childhood on the Adams farm southeast of Moorhead. She graduated from Moorhead High School as Valedictorian in 1922. She attended college at Iowa State University and Morningside College. She taught school in and around Moorhead and Bronson Elementary School.

She married Arthur Lamb in 1929. They farmed in Moorhead area until his death in 1965. She married Alfred Holz in 1987 in Moorhead.

She started the Allen Creek Chapel in rural Moorhead, which met for over 20 years.

Survivors include her husband of Jefferson, Iowa; a daughter, Roma Vaverka of Cedar Falls, Iowa; a son and his wife, Donald and Pat of Moorhead; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Al Vaverka; a brother and a sister.
